August 4, 2026

Malibu, California

The proposal was more than just one day. For Daniel, it was months in the making, with August 4, 2026, becoming the culmination of everything that came before.

He took his time with every detail working with a talented DTLA jeweler to design a ring that felt as meaningful and one-of-a-kind as Maiqui. He took Maiqui ring shopping so he could see what styles she naturally gravitated towards. And he even put together a questionnaire, interviewing multiple jewelers before choosing the right fit. After months of thought and planning, the ring was finally completed in May 2026.

Because Maiqui's dad had passed, Daniel asked Maiqui's uncle, her dad's brother in Hawaii, for his blessing.
By that point, Daniel had already been there for the family through the illness, the loss, and the grief after. Her uncle saw the way Daniel showed up for Maiqui through it all, and gave his blessing.

With that, Daniel began planning the proposal.

He chose their three-year anniversary, August 4, as the day he would finally ask Maiqui to marry him. Maiqui was already used to Daniel planning incredibly thoughtful dates, so when she arrived at the beach and saw the setup, she thought it was just another one of his elaborate date plans. Daniel even told her he was there to shoot content.

And she believed him.

What Maiqui thought was just another carefully planned anniversary date was actually the moment Daniel had been preparing for all along. After months of designing the ring, speaking with her family, and secretly planning every detail, Daniel finally asked Maiqui to spend the rest of their lives together. In so many ways, every little moment had led them there, and Daniel had never been more certain of the life he wanted to build with her.

The Ring

Daniel thoughtfully designed Maiqui’s ring with love, wanting every detail to be as meaningful, special, and unique as she is. More than a promise of forever, the ring is a reflection of how deeply he knows and loves her. Every detail represents something he cherishes about Maiqui and the way he loves her, making the ring not only a symbol of their love, but a reminder of it in every little detail.

Details:

LOTUS BASKET
The lotus represents resilience, a quality Daniel recognized in Maiqui from the moment they met. What once felt like just a word became a symbol of how he saw her, and now lives forever in her ring.

TUX’S PAW PRINT
Tux has always been a huge part of Maiqui’s life, and over the years, he’s become family to Daniel too. It symbolizes not just the two of them choosing each other, but the family they’re building together.
